Interface

SPSL's footfall systems interface with a variety of IT infrastructures so that we can maintain daily access to data for verification, estimation, maintenance and reporting. These are some of the options:

Modem linked

This gives access via any standard analogue phone system in Europe. It's quick and there's no need to interface with your own in-store back office IT system. SPSL's Central Processing Hub in Milton Keynes calls up the data and downloads it securely with no in-store resource needed. No outgoing calls from the equipment are ever initiated. SPSL calls the in-store equipment.

GSM linked

We access the data via a cellular phone network with GSM modem; we can do this in all European markets. Again, because there's no need to interface with your own in-store back office IT system, we can call up the data whenever we need to and the task remains hands-off for you.

IP enabled

This is where we use your own WAN/LAN set-up. We make the most of IP enabled functionality and the installed footfall equipment becomes another PC on your network. The data is transferred from each store back to our Central Processing Hub. We can conduct polling and maintenance functions at store level through this secure link and there's no need for a separate phone line. Please note that SPSL's in-store Data Collection Module (unlike some other IP enabled solutions) does not require an in-store server to operate - so no additional and costly support is required.

MIS linked

Our in-store Data Collection Module technology interfaces with Windows NT, Unix and other formats. We secure-access data from your in-store MIS/EPoS system. Again, there's no need for a direct phone line or a costly additional in-store server. The data is saved on a dedicated file on one of your back office PCs and then polled back to your head office along with the daily transaction file. We supply all the software for this and simply access the collected data for validation via FTP (or other) transfer.
