Independent tests and daily checks

We're very proud of our plus 95% accuracy record and we put in place several measures to make sure it stays that way. And, unlike other suppliers, our accuracy is guaranteed.

• Video verification is an independent test for clients where we video in sync with footfall. Birmingham University then independently assesses the data for accuracy. At SPSL we always encourage independent verification. Other suppliers are afraid to.
• We carry out an audit at your store within 10 days of installation.
• We do a full audit with you once a year for accuracy.
• Our sensing technology looks for abnormalities in the data that may have been caused by in-store tampering. We can measure the duration of each event and accurately auto-estimate for lost data using powerful algorithms. Help desk intervention investigates such anomalies with each store manager and eradicates them.
• All our equipment has 24-hour battery backup in the event of a power failure.
• SPSL flags up uncharacteristic peaks and troughs in daily and hourly counts. These could be entirely planned with, for example, a change of opening hours or late night opening. On the other hand they could be accidental due to an unexpected closure or incident. It also picks up on less obvious changes in customer traffic. Again, all are speedily investigated by SPSL's help desk to ensure you receive 95%+ accurate data 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.

The SPSL Retail Traffic Index uses systems for counting people and footfall along with customer tracking, pedestrian counting  and retail traffic counting to aid staff scheduling and improve your retail performance.
